Service animals, including those in training, are welcome on the Eastern States Exposition grounds. For the safety and comfort of all guests, pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
Service animals are specifically trained to perform tasks that assist individuals with physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities. These animals are working partners—not pets—and may help their handlers navigate large crowds, respond to loud or unexpected noises, or assist during emergencies.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are granted legal protections that do not extend to emotional support animals. Because emotional support animals and pets are not trained to perform specific tasks, they are not covered under the ADA. Allowing non-service animals on the fairgrounds could pose safety and liability risks; for example, if an unauthorized animal were to bite another guest, its owner would be held responsible, as could ESE.
To ensure a safe and welcoming experience for everyone, Eastern States Exposition permits only service animals on the fairgrounds.
