Sheep Show Expands Activities and Sheep Dog Trial Returns!

Eastern States Exposition announces several new additions to the 2008 schedule of sheep events held during The Big E, September 12-28 including a new show, increase in premiums, special recognition award and the return of Sheep Dog Trials.

The Big E will also host several National and Regional Shows including the National Eastern Regional Marcus Thompson, Jr. Hampshire Show, Northeast Regional Tunis Show, National Northeast Regional Border Leicester Show and Regional Cotswold Show.

In partnership with The Banner sheep magazine, The Big E will offer a special recognition award program to Open Sheep Exhibitors who excel at presenting an attractive, educational display within their pen space. Displays should be directed at educating fairgoers on their breed of sheep and the by-products of wool, as well as showcase their breeding program and operation. The display must fit within the pen and tack space. The competition will be offered in both Week I and Week II and more than $300 in prize money will be awarded.

After a one year hiatus, the Sheep Dog Trials will be returning to The Big E's Coliseum September 15 and 16. Pat Canaday will again be joining us as Sheep Dog Trial Superintendent. Click here for Sheep Dog Trial Information.
