The Big E, New England’s Autumn Tradition, is the largest fair in the northeast, hosting more than one million people each September at its 175-acre site. Included in that number are more than 800 motorcoaches that drive into our Bus Depot during the 17-day event. Tour groups will arrive at our 18,250 sq. ft. Visitors’ Center. The towering structure sits at Gate 1 behind the Avenue of States defined by a massive 75 ft. tall, 50 ft. wide clock tower. The building encompasses a 50 ft. x 65 ft. restroom and shower facility, a comfortable 75 ft. x 150 ft. waiting area and concession stands.
Guests will enjoy free entertainment, major exhibits, Circus Spectacular, the Avenue of States, Storrowton Village, animals, rides, shopping, and foods from around the world during New England’s most colorful season.
The Big E Grande Parade features eight spectacular, custom-built Mardi Gras floats direct from New Orleans. Along the Avenue of States, full-size buildings, modeled after each original state capitol, grace the broad boulevard enticing fairgoers inside to sample everything each has to offer. Within historic Storrowton Village, visitors will find an authentic 19th century American township of buildings gathered from throughout New England and reconstructed around a traditional village green with antique craftmaking and demonstrations, children’s games, special programming and guided tours of buildings.
