Rupert & Muriel Chamberlin
Rupert and Muriel Chamberlin
were both active in the Vermont Jersey Breeders Association and the New England Jersey Breeders Association. Rupert served as Vice-President and President of both organization at different times. He also served on the Sales Committee for both organizations. Muriel served as Secretary of the New England Association. Muriel clerked the New England Sale for several years. She also kept the records of the Vermont Jersey Futurity show for many years.
They were part of the first group to receive the Young Dairyman Award given by the American Jersey Cattle Association in 1976. They showed their prize Jersey cattle at many fairs throughout Vermont and New England. They won the Vermont Futurity Show several times, including the animals that were the second and third generation to have won the award. They also were named both Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor at The Big E.
