Carl Bourne was a longtime herdsman at Pioneer Farm in Old Lyme, Connecticut. The list of Big E winners under his supervision would fill pages. He eventually moved to Sawtucket Jerseys, and then to West Acres in New York but continued as an exhibitor. Carl was the 1967 winner of the Klussendorf Award.
