Growing up, Sears was actively involved in the Massachusetts 4-H Dairy program and participated in the New England 4-H Dairy Show at The Big E. During her 4-H tenure, she claimed top honors in both the showmanship and breed competitions with her Guernsey cattle. Sears has exhibited Brown Swiss, Guernseys and Holsteins in the Open competitions at The Big E. She has garnered Grand and Junior Champion honors in the Guernsey breed on several occasions. Her passion for exhibiting cattle at The Big E complements her work for UMass Extension, as she helps to organize and oversee the 4-H Youth delegation that attends the annual New England 4-H Dairy Show.
