Shaun Young, Maple Sugar Farm, Tinmout, VT. Shaun was the owner of "Maple Sugar Farm", a third-generation, organic dairy farm, He loved his family, farming, and attending cattle shows with his treasured Brown Swiss.
As a 4-Her, Shaun showed Brown Swiss and never lost that passion for those big beautiful animals. He loved watching his children, Chelsea and Chad, show and spend hours talking with other Brown Swiss owners about the breed.
He was blessed to have owned many deep pedigreed animals over the years, but one Swiss always stood out. "Maple Sugar Martha" was special from the day she was born. In 2014, as a 5-year-old, she was named Senior and Grand Champion Cow at the All-American Brown Swiss Youth Show in Harrisburg, PA. In 2016, she was named Senior and Reserve Grand Champion Cow at the Northeast National Brown Swiss Show in West Springfield, MA. Today at almost 12, she still looks impressive roaming the fields.
Shaun completed his life in April 2015 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Although he is no longer on earth in person, he is here in spirit. Nowadays he is most likely educating the big guy above about those amazing Brown Swiss and all they have to offer.
