Find ATMs along the Avenue of States and inside the Coliseum, Young Building, Better Living Center, Mallary Complex, Food Court and Transportation Center. Machines are also located near the Midway, Flag Plaza, Craft Common, Lost & Found/First Aid, as well as Gates 4, 5 and 7.
BIG E DATES & HOURS
The Big E is an annual event and begins on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for 17 days.Gates open daily at 8 a.m. Most exhibits and buildings are open 10am-10 pm
The Avenue of States hours are 10am – 9pm
The Midway is open Sun. – Thurs., 11am – 10pm, Fri. & Sat., 10am – 11pm
Storrowton Village Museum hours are 10am – 9pm
Craft Common is open until 10pm
Storrowton Tavern & Terrace is open 11am to 11pm
The Big E Bakery (Big E Cream Puffs and E-clairs) is open 9am to 10:30pm (11pm on Fri. & Sat.)
The Shops at Storrowton are open 10am to 9pm
WHEELCHAIR / SCOOTER / STROLLER RENTALS
Wheelchairs and strollers are available for rent at Gates 4 and 9A. Wheelchairs are $15 per day and Electric scooters are $50 per day (with a 250 lb. weight limit). Electric scooters may not be available on extremely wet days. A limited number of oversized wheelchairs are available for $15 per day (with a 300 lb. weight limit.) Strollers are $10 per day and Wagons & Double Strollers are $15 per day. Rentals are available on a first come, first served basis and reservations are not accepted.
BIG E INFORMATION
Information personnel are on duty during Fair hours at booths throughout the grounds to assist guests with their needs, questions, comments, concerns or problems. Information Booths are located near Gate 5, across from the Massachusetts Building, Visitors’ Center East and West, and at the Food Court.

Big E Official Program Books are just $5 and are available inside each gate as well as all Information locations. Books are sold by the Springfield Lodge of Elks and proceeds benefit the organization’s programs supporting veterans, seniors and youth in the Greater Springfield area.

Each state puts its best foot forward, showcasing unique products and exhibits in the buildings and presenting activities and entertainment on the lawns on their special day in 2018.

WHAT IS THE BIG E CREAM PUFF?
The Big E Cream Puff is the Fair’s signature dessert that debuted in 2002. The sweet and scrumptious treat will make its return in the beautifully designed Big E Bakery in the New England Center. Try our Big E-clair, which made its debut in 2004! Visitors will be able to watch the baking process through large glass windows as the tasty treats are stuffed with a special, secret recipe filling. Every Big E fairgoer with a sweet tooth must experience these great goodies. Stop by the take-out window for quick, easy access to the tempting desserts.
MAPS, DIRECTIONS & GETTING HERE
A detailed map of the grounds is available on our Getting Here page and within The Big E Official Program Book on sale for $5 at all Gates and Information booths. Map boards are also posted at several locations on the grounds. Although we do not recommend specific hotels, you can find a list of area hotels on our Getting Here page.
The full services of the West Springfield Fire Department are available on our grounds at the Fire Station on Hampden Avenue which operates 24-hours a day during the Fair.
FIRST AID & LOST PEOPLE
Located across from the Fire Station and next to the Lost People Center, our First Aid Station is staffed by doctors and nurses. Ambulance service is also available. Our Lost People Center is located across from the Fire Station and next to First Aid. It is staffed by dedicated, caring professionals skilled in reuniting folks. They are on duty daily every hour of the Fair and sometimes later to assist fairgoers who are separated from their parties. Guests are encouraged to seek assistance from the Lost People Center immediately upon discovering when someone has been separated from their group. The Center maintains a cheerful waiting area and offers a Message Board for postings.
HANDICAPPED PARKING AND DROP-OFF AREAS
The Big E provides 580 handicapped accessible parking spaces in a special paved area near Gate 9A. Adjacent to the handicapped parking area, is a drop-off area, located at Gate 9A. This area is covered by a large canvas tent and has benches for fair patrons.
LEAVING AND COMING BACK TO THE BIG E
The Big E provides for its guests who need to leave the grounds for a short period of time. Simply retain your ticket stub and have your hand stamped on your way out of any gate. You will need these two items to re-enter the gates during the same day.
ALL lost and found items should be brought to the Lost People Center.
NURSING LOUNGE & BABY CHANGING STATIONS
A special area for nursing mothers is located in the New England Center. Baby changing facilities are available in selected Men’s & Women’s rooms throughout the grounds: Ladies Rooms in the Coliseum, New England Center, Young Building; Men’s and Ladies Rooms in the Better Living Center, Visitors’ Center East and Food Court. Family bathrooms are located in Mallary Complex, the Moses Building and First Aid and are also equipped with baby changing stations.
OFFICIAL BIG E MERCHANDISE
T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, lapel pins and other collectibles of The Big E may be purchased in our 3 merchandise stores located near Gate 5, in the Visitors Center East and at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue & the Avenue of States.
United Parcel Service (UPS) maintains an office on the grounds behind the Giant Slide beginning the week before the Fair. Packages received may be picked up Mon. –
Sat. 7am-5pm and Sun., 7am-11am. No services will be available on the final Sunday of the Fair.
PARKING & CAMPING
Parking is available on our grounds at Gate 9 for $10 (cash only). Our handicapped parking and drop off area is located at Gate 9A. The Big E provides 580 accessible parking spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. The Gate 9A area is also available for the drop-off/pick-up of handicapped, elderly or otherwise impaired passengers. A limited number of parking spaces for self-contained campers only are available on a first come, first served basis. Parking for campers is $20 per space/per day. Additional cars and awnings are $10 per space/per day. Several adjacent private parking lots are located along Memorial Avenue.
Fairgoers are not allowed to bring their pets through the gates during The Big E. The only exception are certified service animals.

Our Security staff is comprised of Big E Security personnel as well as dedicated members of the West Springfield Police Force. The Security office is located on Hampden Avenue and is open the Monday before Opening Day and throughout the Fair, 24-hours a day.
Please note that no weapons are allowed on the grounds. Metal detectors are in use at every entrance gate to the fairgrounds. Bags are subject to search at gates.

WHO OWNS THE BIG E?
Eastern States Exposition – home of The Big E, is not owned by any specific individual or group. Eastern States Exposition is organized as a not-for-profit, educational institution under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Its governing body is a volunteer Board of Trustees consisting of distinguished civic, business and agricultural leaders from each of the six New England States.
