Chad Ryan, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
Chad Ryan resides in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with his wife, Amy, and two sons, Dylan, 13, and Cameron, 12. There, he assists his parents, Mark and Mary, with the day-to-day operations of their family farm, Ryan-Vu Holsteins, a 100-cow Registered Holstein herd with a BAA of 111.8. Chad and his family enjoy exhibiting cattle at various shows throughout the year, and Ryan-Vu Holsteins was named the Premier Breeder twice at the Wisconsin Championship Holstein Show. The family has bred or developed over 40 All-American, Junior All-American and All-Canadian nominees. Chad travels to many shows and sales around the U.S., working with elite show cattle and genetic offerings. In 2020, he judged the North American Open Dairy Cattle - Jersey Show in Circleville, Ohio. Prior to that, he judged the International Holstein Show at World Dairy Expo and the New York Spring Dairy Carousel Brown Swiss and Ayrshire Shows in Syracuse, New York, the International Red and White Holstein Show, the International Junior Holstein Show, the All-American Red & White Holstein Show, the Mid-Atlantic Jersey Show, the Midwest National Spring Holstein Show and the Northeast Spring National Holstein Show. He also judged three times at the North American International Livestock Exposition. In 2021, Chad will serve as the official judge of the International Jersey Show and other shows around the U.S.
Along with being active on the farm and in the showring. Chad has served as a director on the Wisconsin Holstein Association board. He currently serves on the World Dairy Expo Dairy Cattle Exhibitor Committee and the World Dairy Expo Board of Directory and has served on nominating panels for the Black and White and Red and White Holstein and Jersey All-American contests.
