The 2018 Southern New England Shepherds Forum

Located on Saturday, March 2, 2018 at Norfolk Ag School, Walpole, Massachusetts. Sponsored this year by Rhode Island Sheep Cooperative.

Registration starts at 8:00 am, Forum will run from 9:00 am to 4:15 pm.

$5 preregistration and $8 registration at the door.

Guest Speakers include: Matt Best, Rosalyn Price English, Rachel Gately, Debra Hopkins, Bonnie Kegler, Bryan Mason, Dr. Catherine Petersson, Brittany Sederback and Mike Wright.

The 2018 Northeast Southdown Association Cliff Thayer Southdown Youth Award

The main goal of the Southdown Youth Award is to donate a quality Southdown ewe lamb to a well deserving youth who shows a need, and has demonstrated enthusiasm, and interest in the showing and breeding of Southdown sheep. Anyone who has not won a ewe lamb previously is eligible to enter. Please click here for eligibility.

Notification of award winner will be made no later than April 30, 2018. Presentation of the ewe lamb will be made at the NEYSS.

2018 CT 4-H Goat Day

Saturday, April 7, 2018 8 am to 4:30 pm at Ratcliffe Hicks Arena, Uconn Storrs, CT designed for youth ages 7-18, parents, leaders and goat enthusiasts. All participants, both youth and chaperones, must pay $20 per attendee. Do NOT bring a goat.

Registration and payment are due by March 16 to: Nancy Wilhem, State 4-H Office, W.B. Young Building, 1376 Storrs Rd, Unit 4134, Storrs, CT 06269.

Each youth MUST have a chaperone to supervise and support them. Chaperones attending the day without registering will be required to remain in designated areas throughout the day. If a parent or guardian will not be accompanying a youth participant to Connecticut 4-H Goat Day, the volunteer chaperone accompanying the youth must have a 4-H Member Health Form in their possession for each participating member and it must be signed by the youth's parent or guardian.

Substitutions are not allowed. Cancellations must be emailed or called in by 4 pm on April 6 to (860) 486-4127. Spots will be filled from a waiting list.
