Trot on over to Eastern States Exposition’s Coliseum to witness prestigious horse shows, sponsored by Williams Distributing, and demonstrations for the whole family. The Eastern States Exposition Horse Show is a beloved tradition that you won’t want to miss. From petite Hackney ponies to the gigantic Draft horses, the riders and their skilled horses exhibit amazing athleticism as they compete in a variety of classes.
ESE Hunter and Saddlebred shows were granted the prestigious Heritage award by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) July 1, 2016. The Heritage designation brings the shows to new heights as a licensed competition that puts ESE in the same category as the elite group who for generations, have made substantial contributions toward the development and promotion of the sport.
The Hunter Show kicks into gear Sept. 13; two days before opening day. The show continues through Sept. 17 and includes the USHJA Zone 1 HOTY Finals. The $15,000 Big E “Opening Night” Hunter Classic, takes place for a third year on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7pm.
Saddlebreds, Hackneys, Morgans, Friesians and Open Opportunity Classes enter the Coliseum, Sept. 21–24, and on Sept. 23 at 6pm, ESE will honor the fourth inductee into the ESE Equestrian Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was created to recognize those who have demonstrated excellence in their discipline and made significant achievements and contributions to the equestrian community. Come help us celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s honoree!
