Whiskey Traveler is an alternative Country/Americana family band from Westfield, formed in 2015 by Jessica and Bernie Dion who performed locally for events around Westfield. When asked to perform Christmas songs for a company Bernie worked for, the response was overwhelmingly positive and Jonathan Dion was recruited to join them as lead guitar player and vocalist. Harrison Stefano joined the band in early 2023 on bass. Pete Asarese joined the band in 2019 on drums to round out the Whiskey Traveler line up.
In 2017 Whiskey Traveler recorded an EP of original songs with the help of Mike Freedmen, former owner of Riverside Productions in Westfield. The band performs locally at bars and fairs, including the Westfield Food Fest, charitable causes like Rays Of Hope, and have had the honor to open for outlaw country artist and 5 time Josie Awards nominated, Dee Rock, at the Home Front Equestrian Fund Raiser. Ideas for originals and cover are presented to the entire band with each member adding their own talents and “opinions”. The set list is mostly modern country with splashes of other contemporary genres.
