In our non-stop, over-scheduled plugged-in, wireless, app-filled we have created great opportunities to expand our children’s worlds well beyond the boundaries of our neighborhoods, state or even country. Information about places and experiences in visual and audio forms is literally only a touch or swipe away.
But these are in reality all “virtual” experiences, what are our children missing out on in the real world?
There still is the potential to inspire our children in ways that remove them from inside their room and engages all their senses.
Storrowton Village Museum has been specializing in experimental learning for over three decades. The educational programs give children a hands-on opportunity to experience things they otherwise never would, such as milking a cow, learning lessons in a one room schoolhouse, and apprenticing at the Blacksmith shop.
