“TALES FROM HAUNTED NEW ENGLAND” Thrills, Chills and Shrills at Historic Storrowton Village |
Storrowton Village Museum presents its annual Halloween happening, "Tales From Haunted New England," October 21 at 7 p.m. in the Meetinghouse on the grounds of Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Mass.
Storyteller April Grant, of Northampton, Mass., will enchant audience members with authentic 18th and 19th century stories and songs with a supernatural theme. This "spook-tacular" performance will take place by candlelight inside the Village's historic church.
Grant is a singer of traditional songs, musician, actress, storyteller and lover of old tales, especially those from American folklore. She has performed at the New England Folk Festival and led workshops for the New York Folk Music Club and Pinewoods Folk Week. She is currently involved in writing and has already completed her first novel.
Now in its 22nd year, families are encouraged to join in this fun and bewitching tradition of Halloween in Storrowton’s unique, eerie setting.
Admission to this one-hour presentation is $5. Please contact Storrowton Village Museum at 413-205-5051 for more information or to make reservations, which are not required but strongly encouraged.
Storrowton Village Museum, an educational arm of Eastern States Exposition, presents hands-on school programs and guided tours of its historic buildings throughout the year as well as seasonal 19th century-themed events. It is the site of Storrowton Tavern/Carriage House and Storrowton Village Museum Gift Shop and is a picturesque, popular site for weddings held in its Meetinghouse and Gazebo. -30- |
