Sales Department Launches New Constant Contact Program

As you have noticed, you have been receiving emails from staff at Eastern States Exposition. In an effort to better stay connected with you as you travel to other shows and Fairs, the Sales department at ESE has subscribed to an email program called Constant Contact. We will be sending you periodic notes about changes on the grounds, reminders of important dates and monthly newsletters. Please make sure that we have the most current contact information for you, so you are able to stay up-to-date on changes and events at ESE when The Big E is not in town.

New Light Bulb Recycling Effort

In order to comply with state and federal law and to continue to be a good corporate citizen, Eastern States Exposition is embarking on a comprehensive recycling program for all light bulbs We are now prohibited from placing any type of light bulbs in our waste stream. ESE has contracted with Safety Kleen Corporation to handle the large number of bulbs that are generated, especially during the Fair. It is all of our responsibility to ensure that no one deposits light bulbs in any of our dumpsters or we could face huge fines. All vendors and suppliers will need to comply. It will be our mission in the Sales department to educate you of the importance of this program

Massachusetts Minimum Wage Changes

As of January 1, 2007, the Massachusetts minimum wage went from $6.75 to $7.50 an hour. There will be another increase to $8 per hour effective January 1, 2008

Big E Entertainment Line-Up Taking Shape

John Juliano, Special Events Director reports that the following entertainment has been booked for the 2007 Big E. Thunder Drums of China - a dynamic, talented group of timpani drummers will appear daily on the Court of Honor Stage Maxine Nightingale - will combine her hits including "Right Back Where We Started From," a 1976 chart topper, with an array of disco covers for an upbeat performance Monday - Thursday, Sept. 17-20 on the Court of Honor StageChuck Negron - Former lead singer of the popular seventies group, Three Dog Night will appear on the Court of Honor Stage Monday - Thursday, Sept. 24-27 Live Shark Experience - A 5,000 gallon aquarium filled with sharks and an educational, interactive exhibit, "The Great White Encounter," will sit at the north end of the Avenue of States Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Adventure Tour - The state-of-the-art traveling experience highlights all the excitement and adventure of the popular television show. Animatronics exhibits take visitors from the tropical rain forest to the African savannah and the Polar region. The exhibit will set up near the Giant Slide
