Eastern States Exposition is known for its strong commitment to agriculture. We started in 1916 with the National Dairy Show and continue today with outstanding agricultural exhibits. On our grounds you will not only find livestock shows of all kinds but horticulture, agricultural products, contests and educational demonstrations.

Need a milk break?

Stop in at our Dairy Barn where you can see our modern milking parlor in use twice daily by dairy exhibitors. If you miss the live action, don’t despair. We have it all captured on video. You can learn about everything from how and why we milk our cows to nutritional information on dairy products. This fantastic program is sponsored by the New England Dairy Promotion Board. Sponsored by the New England Dairy Promotion Board is the Cheese Shoppe located outside of the Mallary Complex! Award winning wine and cheese will be on display! Check it out! Now that you’ve worked up your thirst, stop at the Dairy Bar and get a refreshing bottle of Guida milk. Choose from their fabulous flavors in the “Super Single” 12oz bottle.

Want to see the animals?

Amble down the aisles of the Mallary Complex. We suggest that you check the schedule to see when your favorite animal will be at the fair. We change the barn’s inhabitants many times during the fair. Along the main aisle, see goat milking demonstrations, sheep shearing and a whole lot more. We also highlight several agriculture exhibits that help you understand how agriculture affects our economy and everyday life. At the Fiber Nook, learn how fibers from a variety of animals are used. See our Butter Sculpture which is made of more than 500 lbs. of butter. Another favorite of many children is the Singing Refrigerator and 3-A-Day of Dairy Quiz Show! You can learn all about diary and why calcium is important for your body.

Christmas is coming.

Get into the mood by visiting the New England Christmas Tree Grower’s Exhibit outside of the Mallary Complex. See the best trees in New England and learn what to look for when you chose your own tree to for the holidays. See how a tree grows. See the tractors and equipment your father and grandfather used on the farm at our Antique Tractor and Farm Equipment Display. Look for it next to the Christmas Tree Display in front of the Mallary Complex.

New England Center

The New England Center is home to the creative arts competitions. This year there will be Cake Decorating Competition, Domino Sugar Cupcake Competition, Gold Medal Flour Cookie Contest ! The stage is always a great thing to check out in the New England Center is the stage. There is daily performances from Zumba Fitness to Square Dancers, there is something that will interest everyone going on at this stage! And do not forget to check out the porch of quilts on display in the New England Center.

Coliseum

The Coliseum is where all horse shows take place. There are horses ranging from Hunters to Draft. These shows are going on throughout the Fair and depending on the day, affect what type will be shown. Horse and Ox pulling contests also take place here.

FARM-A-RAMA

A visit to the Farm-A-Rama will find big draft horses having their manes and tails braided for the parade, a sow with her piglets and many more agriculture related exhibits. Farm-A-Rama is home to our Native Produce competition and the Giant Pumpkin winners. Winners of the Gourd Contest featuring fresh gourds, dried gourds and crafted gourds will be displayed in the Farm-A-Rama! FFA members will demonstrate corsage making throughout the Fair. The stage presents informative, entertaining, agriculture productions. This building is open from 10am to 10pm daily. You can also test your knowledge with the Tool Quiz located in the Farm-A-Rama. Also located in the Farm-A-Rama is the Weigh in on Agriculture exhibit. You can see how your weight compares to agricultural items such as a sack of potatoes or a sheep! Just step on the scale!
