Award-winning, Country music duo Sugarland, with special guest Rissi Palmer, will bring their high octane performance to The Big E's Comcast Arena Stage in West Springfield, Mass., Saturday, September 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45 and $35 and can be purchased, beginning May 16 at 10 a.m., online at www.TheBigE.com.
Sugarland is nominated for four awards at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards which take place Sunday, May 18. Piloted by Jennifer Nettles' powerful, Country-soul vocals and Kristian Bush's passionate harmonies and playing, the entertainers will vie for Top Vocal Duo and Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for their single, "Stay."
The dynamic duo of Nettles and Bush traveled separate career paths before creating an artistic partnership that has become one of the hottest vocal duos in Country music today. She belted it out in the Baptist church as a kid and spent a decade ruling the Atlanta club circuit. He is a former alternative folk-rocker who grew up listening to college radio favorites.
Their Mercury Nashville debut, Twice the Speed of Life, was certified Double Platinum and in 2005, they received the Breakthrough Favorite New Artist award at the American Music Awards, an honor that encompasses a variety of music genres.
It's a major understatement to say that Sugarland has come a long way fast. Radio and fans alike have embraced all of their singles: "Baby Girl," "Something More," "Just Might (Make Me Believe)" and "Down in Mississippi (Up To No Good)." They have been nominated for a Grammy award and six Academy of Country Music awards, including Jennifer's #1 duet with Jon Bon Jovi, "Who Says You Can't Go Home." They took home a 2006 ACM for Top New Duo/Vocal Group. They also won the Country Music Association's Vocal Duo of the Year award in 2007.
