Multi-platinum recording artist, Fergie, comes to The Big E's Comcast Arena Stage in West Springfield, Mass., Sunday, September 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale June 6 at 10 a.m., online at www.TheBigE.com and The Big E Box Office.
In 2003, Fergie took over the lead female vocal spot for the band, The Black Eyed Peas. Fergie recorded five songs with the group before being invited to join them permanently. The Black Eyed Peas have won three Grammy Awards including Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards for "Let's Get It Started" giving Fergie her first Grammy. That honor was followed with two more GRAMMYs in 2005 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group and in 2006 for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
After striking out on her own with her first solo album, The Dutchess, in September 2006, Fergie garnered several more awards for singles from the album. "Fergalicious" brought her a 2007 MuchMusic Video Award for Best International Video Artist and a 2007 MTV Australian Video Music Award. She was also recognized with a Teen Choice Award for Choice Female Artist, MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Artist, American Music Award for Best Pop/Rock Female Artist and Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica for Best New International Artist. This past year, ASCAP named "Big Girls Don't Cry" Song of the Year, continuing Fergie's winning streak.
In addition, the well-known international star was nominated in 2008 for a People's Choice Award, a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award and a Juno Award.
Fergie began her career as a child performer, voicing two Charlie Brown television specials in 1984 as well as the 1985 version of "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show."
Together with Stefanie Ridel and Renee Sandstrom, Fergie was the front person for the female trio Wild Orchid before joining The Black Eyed Peas. She returned to acting in 2006 in the role of lounge singer, Gloria, in the remake of "The Poseidon Adventure" and later appeared in 2007's "Grindhouse."
Tickets are $55 each for the floor and center bleacher seats and $45 for the side bleacher seats and include Big E admission when purchased in advance of the show.
