THE GREEN MOUNTAIN STATE AT THE BIG E'S AVENUE OF STATES

The Avenue of States, showcasing the best of each New England state, is one of the most popular attractions at The Big E in West Springfield, Mass. A replica of each state's original capitol sits along the broad avenue offering fairgoers a unique opportunity to tour its finest destinations, sample some mouth-watering foods and shop for Vermont made crafts and native goods.

Vermont Day is Saturday, September 20, when the Green Mountain State puts its best foot forward for fairgoers from throughout New England. From the finest Vermont products and foods to musical performances and special guests, including Vermont's Governor Jim Douglas, there will be something for everyone at the Fair. Performances include the Knobby Reed Project, a blues band from Swanton, Vt, Brattleboro American Legion Band and WDEV Radio Rangers. Marching bands, including the Brattleboro American Legion Band and The Friesians of Majesty from Townshend will perform in The Big E Daily Parade at 5 p.m. There will also be a booth with information on Friesians in the Vermont Building September 20-22.
