MUSICAL PERFORMANCES SCHEDULED FOR YULETIDE AT STORROWTON

Holiday musical performances will fill the air at Yuletide at Storrowton, December 6 & 7 in historic Storrowton Village Museum on the grounds of Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Mass.

In the Meetinghouse:
   April Grant, Stories and Songs - Saturday at 1 p.m.
   Barbara Bennet Organ Recital - Saturday at 2 p.m.
   A Rose Tree on the Road to Boston: Early American Music for the Wooden Fife: Doug Quigley
     
Saturday at 3 p.m.
   Jerry Marchand will play the Celtic Harp Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (in the Gift Shop)
   Alice Moore Golden Bell Ringers - Sunday at 1 p.m.
   Paul Kaplan, Seasonal Songs with a Winter's Theme - Sunday at 2 p.m.

Two presentations will take place: "A Lamplighter's Life," Early Street Lighting in America, by Dennis Picard, director of Storrowton Village Museum, Saturday at noon and Sunday at 3 p.m.; and A Visit with Henry David Thoreau: "Walden's Visitors in Winter," Sunday at noon. Caroling and tree lighting on the Gazebo will end each day at 4 p.m.

The Storrowton Village Gift Shop and the Christmas Shop will be open during the event. Regular hours are:

Open during all Yuletide festivities and tours. Holiday decorations and gifts are sold in the Gift Shop throughout December.

The Village also offers:
   Yuletide Open House Tours, December 8 - 13 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
   Yuletide Lantern Light Tours, December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.
   Tour prices are $5 each and children under 6 are admitted free.

Join us for Yuletide at Storrowton, a free holiday festival with tours of 19th century buildings and houses featuring the work of area garden clubs, florists and designers as well as entertainment and activities for the whole family. Storrowton Tavern will be open during all events for hearty dining.

Storrowton Village Museum, an educational arm of Eastern States Exposition, presents hands-on school programs and guided tours of its historic buildings throughout the year as well as seasonal 19th century-themed events. It is the site of Storrowton Tavern/Carriage House and Storrowton Village Museum Gift Shop and is a picturesque, popular site for weddings held in its Meetinghouse and Gazebo.
