THE BAY STATE AT THE BIG E'S AVENUE OF STATES
The Avenue of States, showcasing the best of each New England state, is one of the most popular attractions at The Big E in West Springfield, Mass. A replica of Massachusetts' original capitol sits regally along the broad avenue. The Massachusetts Building offers fairgoers a unique opportunity to tour the state's finest destinations, sample its most delectable foods and shop for Massachusetts-made crafts and native goods.
Massachusetts Day is Thursday, September 24, when the Bay State puts its best foot forward for fairgoers from throughout New England. From the best Massachusetts products and foods to musical performances and special guests, there will be something for everyone at the Fair. Massachusetts marching bands and contingents will march in The Big E Daily Parade at 5 p.m.
Fairtime exhibitors include: Charlemont Inn, Charlemont; Finn Cakes, Westfield; Granville Cheese; Hampden County Bee Keepers Association, Springfield; Kettle Korn Express, Rehoboth; Koffee Cup Bakery, Springfield; Massachusetts Dairy Industry Promotion, North Brookfield; Massachusetts Federation of Farmer's Markets, Waltham; Massachusetts Maple Producers Association, Ashfield; Massachusetts State Grange, Northbrookfield; New England Apple, Hatfield; Ooh La La Fudge, Belmont; Paper City Brewery, Holyoke; Soft as a Grape Clothing, Wareham; Thorndike Mills, Palmer; Western Massachusetts Master Gardener's Association, Hampden; and Whip City Candle Company, Westfield. In addition, several Massachusetts state agencies will be represented including: the Conservation Districts, Department of Agricultural Resources, Department of Conservation and Recreation, Emergency Management Agency, Mass. Lottery, Office of the State Treasurer, Office of Travel and Tourism and State Police Academy.
Look for fine Massachusetts-made foods showcased on New England Specialty Food Day, Friday, Oct. 2, on the lawn. Choose from some of the finest New England products from within the state.
