Chapters will have at least five members with some prior training available during the above hours to give demonstrations. Supplies and materials will be provided by Eastern States Exposition. The flowers will be primarily small chrysanthemums with leather leaf and fern. Wire and ribbon will be provided. Chapters should bring their own knives and cutters. Corsages will be single flowers with fern and bow. A microphone will be provided and chapters are expected to use it to tell the fairgoers what they are doing.

Proper Dress

FFA jackets, lab coats, smock, apron or similar attire is necessary.

Personal neatness is a must for all participants.

Parade

Demonstrations will close at 4pm to allow the chapter to clean up the station and go to the Moses Building to march in the 5pm parade. The US and FFA Flags will be carried as well as appropriate FFA Banners.

Attending

A bus card will be issued to chapters when they provide the following information: chapter name, number of people, person responsible, date of demonstration, bus company to be used, estimated time of arrival and departure from the grounds. This information will automatically trigger a BUS CARD from the Agriculture and Education Office. Please note buses of more than 15 passengers will have to go to offsite bus parking.  It is strongly suggested that chapters submit a Car, Van and Bus Request Form.xls . Deadline is August 15, 2014.

Each chapter, which demonstrates floral design, will receive $50 to be used for their own purposes. Up to 15 noon and evening meal tickets will be provided to the chapter advisor by the Superintendent of Farm-A-Rama for all those who perform demonstrations.

All Chapters will be judged daily on the above rules and a plaque will be awarded for the chapter with the best overall performance. Chapters who have competed in previous years will be judged on improvement.
