The veteran rockers of Smash Mouth are celebrating 20 years since their 1997 major label debut, Fush Yu Mang. The album’s hit single, “Walkin’ on the Sun,” became an immediate international sensation, quickly shooting to no. 1 on the Billboard charts.
The band’s fiery debut set the stage for the 1999 masterpiece, Astro Lounge. The sophomore album, approaching Quadruple-Platinum status, boasts three top-ten hits, “All-Star,” “Then The Morning Comes” and “Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby.” Astro Lounge has sold four million copies to date.
“Pacific Coast Party,” and the smash hit, “I’m a Believer,” are featured on the band’s eponymous 2001 release.
In the decades since Smash Mouth’s entrance into the music world, the guys have not slowed down. They are the musical heart of the soundtrack for “Shrek,” made cameos in film, and in recent years, have focused on entertaining the troops in such places as Japan, Guam, Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan and Iraq.
In celebration of this milestone year, Smash Mouth will release an acoustic version of Fush Yu Mang in its entirety, along with a new album of all-original material.
