Event Location: Eastern States Exposition 1305 Memorial Ave West Springfield, MA

 

Events to be held include: Family Game Show Youth Showmanship Competition Skill-A-Thon Jackpot Steer Show - Shown by weight Jackpot Heifer Show - Shown by Registered and Non-Papered breeds Youth Heifer Show - Both Papered and Non-Papered Cow/Calf Division Youth Steer Show Pizza Party Big East Family Bar-B-Que Ice Cream Social Scotch Auction Trade Show

 

Jackpot Premiums: We will be paying out the top 5 places in each of the jackpot shows. Overall payout will be determined at the show. 2012 Payments: Champion Steer -$850; Reserve Champion Steer -$425; Jackpot Steer – 5 places paid; Champion Heifer -$1800; Reserve Champion Heifer - $500;
Jackpot Heifer Show – 5 places paid

 

Premiums: Cash Class premiums will also be awarded.

Camping: Campers are welcome, with full utility hookups. The charge is $10 per day due in full at the gate to Fairgrounds.

 

Dining: Eastern States Exposition provides a varied, home cooked menu at the Mallary Concessions.

 

Judges:

Kirk Stierwalt, Leedey, Ok.: Showmanship, Jackpot Steers and Youth Heifer Show. Has been showing cattle since the age of 6. In 2001, Honor® Show Chow® Ambassador. Dan Fawcett, Ree Heights, So. Dakota: Youth Steer and Jackpot Heifer.

Dan Fawcett and his wife Kari are part of the Fawcett Family a group of people dedicated to raising quality Hereford Cattle. Since the beginning, the Fawcett's have favored the Hereford breed for their maternal traits, hardiness and gentle disposition. For generations, the Fawcett's have raised these cattle, and in 1985, the Fawcett's Elm Creek Ranch was established along the Elm Creek in Ree Heights, SD.Known for outstanding Hereford genetics that perform in a pasture setting and in the show ring, the Fawcett family works diligently to stay on the cutting-edge of the breed.

 

Bedding: Bark Mulch is provided. As a service to our exhibitors, Eastern States Exposition livestock office will be selling shavings and straw for tieouts. We encourage you to take advantage of their competitive pricing and buy supplies at the show.
